- Class 10: 5 subjects, with one or two languages from Group A. Everything else is Group B and combines freely.
- Class 12: 5 subjects, with one or two languages from Group A. Group B subjects combine freely. Groups C, D, E and F allow only one subject each.
- Group C is Physics 312, History 315, Environmental Science 333 and Library & Information Science 339. Group D is Chemistry 313, Political Science 317, Mass Communication 335 and Military Studies 374. Group E is Biology 314, Accountancy 320, Introduction to Law 338 and Military History 375.
- So Physics, Chemistry and Biology can be taken together because each is in a different group. Biology and Accountancy cannot, because both are in Group E.
- Each subject beyond five costs ₹940 at admission. The exam fee is ₹300 per subject, plus ₹150 for a subject with a practical.
What we do
Picking subjects is where most admission mistakes happen: a combination the groups don’t allow, a science subject with no practical centre nearby, or a medium with no study material. We check this before your form goes in.
- Eligibility check: your age, last marksheet and whether Transfer of Credit (TOC) can carry any subjects over.
- Subject combination that fits your goal (college, job, science or commerce) and NIOS group rules.
- Document check before anything is submitted, so the form isn’t sent back.
- Form filing on the official NIOS portal for you: Basic package, ₹6,500.
- TMA and practical guidance: Premium package, ₹11,000.
- Notes and classes: classroom coaching at our Pune centre, ₹12,500 per subject per year; home tuition in Pune, ₹750 per hour.
NIOS’s own admission and exam fees are separate and are paid directly to NIOS.
