Questions from Maharashtra students
Is an NIOS certificate accepted in Maharashtra?
NIOS is a national board under the Ministry of Education, and it states that its certificates are equivalent to those of other boards. Colleges in Maharashtra admit NIOS students. For professional courses or entrance exams, check that year’s eligibility notice.
Can I study NIOS Class 12 in Marathi medium?
No. In 2026-27 Senior Secondary is offered in Hindi, English, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sanskrit and Odia. Marathi medium is only for Class 10.
Do I have to go to Regional Centre Pune?
Usually not. Admission is online, and day-to-day contact is with your study centre. You deal with the Regional Centre only for official matters such as TOC documents or corrections.
My district has very few study centres. What now?
Many Maharashtra districts have only ITI-linked listings, or only a handful of general ones. Send us your district: we check which listed centres can actually take you for your class, medium and stream.
