Andhra Pradesh files with NIOS Regional Centre Hyderabad, which also covers Telangana. The former Visakhapatnam Regional Centre code has been merged into Hyderabad. The 2026-27 prospectus counts 101 active centres for the Hyderabad office, plus 100 under the former Visakhapatnam code.
Andhra Pradesh NIOS centres in numbers
On 8 October 2026 the official NIOS study-centre list showed 103 active listings in Andhra Pradesh, from 96 institutions in 14 districts as NIOS names them. 32 of these institutions are schools or colleges and 64 (67%) are linked to ITIs. Science is offered on 23 listings (22%), and 7 listings (7%) show a renewal date that is still current. The districts with the most listings are Visakhapatnam (53), Guntur (9), YSR Kadapa District (9), Prakasam (7) and Srikakulam (4). By medium: Hindi and English (92); Telugu (8); English only (2); English and Telugu (1). Telugu medium is available at NIOS Secondary (Class 10), but there is no Telugu medium at Senior Secondary (Class 12) in 2026-27. Coastal and Rayalaseema districts hold most of the listings, and Visakhapatnam alone has dozens.
Board exam or NIOS in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh has its own SSC and Intermediate boards, with private and reappearance options. Students who failed a board exam often compare that route with NIOS Stream 2. Dates and fees change every year, so we check both before you choose. Kurnool and Nellore do not have their own page yet, because the NIOS list shows too few active listings or school-type institutions there.
