Reading the Guntur centre list
The 9 listings belong to 7 institutions, because NIOS lists a centre once for each medium it teaches in. For Class 12 there are 6 listings to choose from; for Class 10, 7. About 33% of the listings (3) include science, in line with the rest of the state.
Medium and where the centres are
For a Telugu-medium Class 10 student there are 2 listings; Hindi or English covers the rest. From the addresses, listings sit in places such as Tenali and Kollipara, spread over 7 PIN codes.
What to check in Guntur
On renewals, 2 listings are current and 7 show a date that has already passed. Guntur district was reorganised in April 2022, when Palnadu and Bapatla were carved out of it as separate districts. NIOS Regional Centre Hyderabad, handles Guntur. Forms, fees and document uploads are online, so a trip there is rarely needed. Remember that the exam centre is fixed by NIOS later and can differ from your study centre. A marksheet from the AP SSC or Intermediate board with one or two passed subjects is useful here, because NIOS can credit up to two of them. Our part, for students in Guntur, is to check whether a science seat is really available before you choose Physics, Chemistry or Biology, that the centre’s registration is still current and a Telugu-medium seat if you want one for Class 10 before anything is paid.
