- TMA lessons (15): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.
- Public exam lessons (23): 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38.

Treat Calculus as the core: eight lessons (25–32) that build on each other, all in the exam. Co-ordinate Geometry (13–16) also needs exam-level practice now, even though the study book still prints it in Part 1. Students who did Class 10 Maths a few years ago usually need to revise algebra and trigonometry from Lessons 1–12 first, even though those are TMA lessons.
Combining Mathematics 311 with other subjects
It is in Group B, so it combines freely with other Group B subjects. Groups C, D, E and F allow one subject each. Transfer of Credit may apply if you passed it elsewhere in 2022 or later. Related: Physics 312, Chemistry 313, Biology 314.

Maths 311 is where most of our Class 12 students want regular classes. We teach it at our Pune centre and guide the TMA. The TMA is your own work: we explain the questions and check your draft, but we don’t hand out solved TMAs.

Questions about Mathematics 311
Is Calculus in the NIOS 311 exam?
Yes. Calculus (Lessons 25–32) is in the public exam, along with Co-ordinate Geometry (13–16), Matrices and Determinants (20–22), Lessons 23–24 and Lessons 33–38.
Is Co-ordinate Geometry a TMA topic in Maths 311?
Not any more. The study book prints it in Part 1, but the current NIOS bifurcation puts Lessons 13–16 in the public exam. Sets, sequences, Algebra-I and Statistics and Probability (Lessons 1–12 and 17–19) are the TMA lessons.
Can I take Maths 311 with Biology?
Yes. Maths is in Group B and Biology 314 is in Group E, so the combination is allowed.
Is Maths 311 material available in Bengali?
Yes. NIOS lists 311 material in English, Hindi, Urdu, Odia, Gujarati and Bengali. There is no Marathi material at Class 12.
